I realized something yesterday as I wrote my daily scribble; this daily blogging takes up a solid hour of my time and a lot of energy.
Originally the project was meant to be something light and easy to improve my writing and see if I could make some progress at blogging by being more consistent.
It was never meant to be daily masterpieces, five to six hundred-word posts, written with a lot of analysis, consideration and 110% effort.
So I’ve decided something: from now on, some days these scribbles will be short and sweet and not nearly as long or detailed as you may be accustomed to.
Working in a busy restaurant, trying to get stuff done for our business, studying for the business course, trying to fit in exercize, relaxing time and do these blog-posts everyday is quite intense!
Before I leave you I’ll just share this: after a year of saving approximately €10 every week, I recently cut open my tin money-box to count what I’d accrued over the 12 months.
There was a little more than I expected!
So I decided it was time, after all my lusting and wishing, after all my self-discipline in forbidding myself to be extravagant and irresponsible, I finally allowed myself to splash out.

Look at the shimmering gold…
I went online and purchased a fabulous journal by Megan Hesse, fashion illustrator extraordinaire, who has illustrated for the likes of Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Tiffany…. the list goes on and on but the thing I adore the most, is that the majority of her stunning drawings are of chic, elegant beautiful Paris and all things Parisienne and designer (for which I harbour a soft spot that I never normally indulge).

LOVE it!!!
And it arrived today, beautifully wrapped in beautifully illustrated papper and with a silky white ribbon, embossed with the Megan Hesse signature; my stunning, gold-edged journal, full of soft creamy lined pages for me to fill with dreams and thoughts and beautiful words….

Perfect.
I only have around five other brand new notebooks to get through first before I can actually use it… Doh! It was completely irrational and illogical to buy it, but that’s the whole point of treating yourself: to do something really special and out of the ordinary, regardless of whether or not it makes any sense.
Buying this notebook made no sense; it cost a whopping fifty-two euro! I could get five cute ones in TK Maxx for the same price (kinda like the five I already have sitting in my bedroom waiting for me to use).
But it’s not just any old €10 euro notebook from TK Maxx, is it?!
It’s something far more special! Which is the whole point of treating yourself.
Now I just need to get writing in those other ones fast so I can actually use it….
Ciao darlings!

I am really proud of you that you have been consistent with blogging everyday. I thought it was only for the month of January but I see you have continued. Cheers to you and yes, treat yourself every once and a while! 🙂

Aww thanks for the kind words! Yes I’m doing it as long as possible (hopefully the whole year) and it’s been one of the best things ever for my writing and for learning about myself and others… hope some of them are interesting even to people who don’t know me well but regardless, even if they’re crap, I’m gonna keep going!
