Morning Star Venus

I went outside yesterday at dawn to have my usual sunrise coffee in the garden and was treated to a mystical magical sight. The Moon, oddly shaped just four days after being full and round, shone like a beacon in the heavens casting a silvery hue over the trees and hills while the sky was a deep, magical azure.

The moment was a unique blend of night and day, light and dark, that mystical realm that borders sleep and wakefulness. As if all that wasn’t enough, up in the East rising ahead of the Sun was the glorious morning star of Venus, bright and sparkling and offering all her hope and joy upon those of us lucky enough to view her.

Coincidentally, the rest of my day was a beautiful collection of my great pleasures, from reading a good book in bed once the kids had gone to school (quite possibly the first time doing such a thing in over two years) to heading to the gym and completing a full workout at my leisure. I usually go at six am and power through it so I get home in time to make sandwiches and snacks for school, cook the porridge and get the kids dressed all while negotiating endless requests from either the two year old sitting on the potty for twenty minutes to my six year old wanting his two teddy bears to have their own lunch box ready ‘for school’…

It’s full on.

Yesterday it was as though the goddess Venus herself bestowed her gifts upon me; precious alone time free of my usual duties and the simple pleasures of reading a good book and working out.

I don’t expect to get such a delightful treat as that again for a while, but I do feel that as a Mum of small kids running around trying to do everything from the school run to bedtime to book-keeping for our small business to waitressing to rising at 5am each day to journal, studying my astrology and trying to write a book…. I was given a little reward for my efforts; a boost to keep me going.

I’ll probably be moaning again about my lack of free time in an hour, so I’m posting this today to remind myself to breathe a little softer and have faith.

May you all have the benevolent blessings of Venus at least once this week!

Love,

Liz
