My First Ever Book…work resumes! (Day 117)

Well folks I’m fecking wrecked and it’s not even 9 pm. I’m off to bed after writing this, that’s for sure!

The reason for my utter “wrecked-ness” is that I received all the edits on my manuscript including all the editors notes, corrections and suggestions for revision.

And lo and behold, I simply could not resist getting stuck in and working on my book with a zeal to rival a hungry dog looking for food. I spent a solid three hours today rewriting and restructuring the first chapter.

Computer work like that always wipes me out.

Thankfully, I’m pretty sure that not all the chapters will require the same level of work (or possibly once I reach chapter ten I won’t be bothered striving for quite such high levels of perfection). It’s good to put a strong focus on the beginning of the book as it’s the reader’s first glimpse into the novel (that’s what I keep telling myself anyway).

Hopefully I can ease off from my perfectionist tendencies for the rest of it.  I have a lot of other work to do these days with business duties, these daily scribbles and of course the terrifying waitressing shifts that are adding grey hairs and taking years off my life-span.

Seriously, I don’t know what happened yesterday but I can only hope that it doesn’t happen again. Otherwise, I’ll need to change career to something like a librarian or old-lady companion. Anything that could give my frayed nerves a break!

I don’t even know why they’re so frayed, waitressing isn’t normally that stressful.  Well….

Anyway, I have a lot more writing planned for tomorrow as well as a good long walk up the hill with the dogs because – hooray – I have another glorious empty day ahead in which to write, walk the fluffmeisters and hopefully get a batch of photography done as well.

So I’m off to bed now.

Ciao darlings!
