Forgetful Jewellery Model Shoot and Dreams of Summer (Day 97)

I knew it was too good to be true.  Crazy hormonal lady was momentarily distracted last week, that’s all.  She’s back today though.

Mainly because I’m exhausted and when you’re tired, it’s harder not to be bothered by things.  So I got a little tense and wound up this morning and once I reached a certain level of overwhelm, the only way to release both that and the physical “periody” heaviness was to have a bit of a cry.

To be fair, it was on a very mild scale to previous ones; a bit of light Irish drizzle compared with the Storm Ophelias I regularly endure.

Today was a day for forgetting things.  We drove all the way to Clonakilty in West Cork for a modelling photo-shoot and upon arriving realized we’d forgotten the pouch of rings.  (I say we but, for the record, I wasn’t the one to pack the jewellery).

Thankfully we had a few already in the studio because our photographer had just done a batch for us recently – it’s not as if we didn’t have any jewellery with us (we had earrings, pendants and bangles) but our rings are our most popular item despite the challenge of sizing.  It was important to get some shots that had them in it.

We drove home several hours later after a satisfying if tiring morning’s work and I suddenly realized, I hadn’t taken a single photo of the event as I’d planned to.  It would have been gold for our social media content.  Bummer.

And then we finally arrived home to a message from our sweet photographer on Whatsapp saying, surprise surprise, we’d forgotten some of the jewellery in the studio.

Doh!

Just one of those days.  I decided the only way to deal with it all was to curl up in the living room with a my book and some tea and read for the rest of the evening which I did with sweet relief.

I’m now feeling rested and happy, looking forward to a full day-off tomorrow (besides some blogging and probably some photo/website editing).

There’s a real change in the air, a soft warmth that has me thinking of sitting out in the evenings and days in shorts and t-shirts.  I enjoy the cosiness of winter, wrapping up in scarves and coats and sitting by the fire.  So I was a little sorry at the change in season, as the days got longer and the plants showed that snowing or not, Spring had definitely arrived.

But after today’s warm sunshine and the promise of bare-feet and the odd beach-day, I have to say I’m really looking forward to Summer.

Ciao darlings!
