For once it’s only 6 pm as I write this. What a novelty.
What am I going to write about today though? My sugar fast is old news already (I just scoffed half a packet of biscuits and a club milk. My internal organs are silently weeping). I’m not entirely off coffee either these days, but if I do have one I have just one, half the strength of what they used to be.
And I’m getting a heart-rush from just that! I was a wild coffee fiend before and I didn’t know it.
Yesterday evening I did some home strength-training for the first time in ages (which basically means I did a few squats and some mini pull-ups on a random gym contraption). The good news is today my Gluteus Maximus is super sore. SCORE!
It’s extra satisfying because I’m battling a weird muscle problem in my lower body. Any time I do some proper cardio like jogging or hill walking, I invariably discover next day that the muscles in my inner thighs (aka the Adductor Magnus) are burning tight while the rest of the body feels nothing.
All those other leg and hip and butt muscles are total slackers. It’s annoying (and bizarre) to think that when I do any exercize, only my inner leg muscles are actually firing.
So: yesterday’s little home session focused on stretching those muscles and working only the other ones around them, namely my sleepy butt muscles. Resistance-band squats and crab-walks, single leg Romanian Deadlifts (with some extra weights) core work and even some foam rolling on my hammies and calves.
Do you folks understand any of that?! Probably not, unless you’re a gym freak. Which I’m not of course (I’m just a regular freak).
Based on all of the above and the fact that I’m hoping to go out to the cinema later, I think I should probably finish this up now and go do some more exercize and make those butt muscles burn just a little bit more.
If my belly full of biscuits will allow me that is…
Ciao darlings!
