“The last thing I feel like doing right now is writing a daily scribble.”
It’s ridiculous how many times I’ve started one of these scribbles with those words or else wanted to… I really should write them earlier in the day. I even had time to do it this morning but I read the Sunday Times supplements instead over a coffee and scone in a cafe.
That was me treating myself! I’ve been doing a fair bit of that lately, in one form or another (namely shopping! Which is off-limits for the foreseeable future… I think the line must be drawn when you discover you have recently purchased three pairs of pink shoes. I’m not even going to try justifying that.)
On the one hand, I keep berating myself for buying nice things (you know, spend money on experiences instead of stuff) but then I keep finding pretty pink shoes and cosy cardigans and I’m like, hello – who needs a holiday abroad when you can indulge in some TK Maxx retail therapy instead?
And then I get a yearning to visit Paris and wish I didn’t like pink shoes so much…
I have been working super hard lately. That’s my main justification for my recent mini-splurges. And they are mini – I bought two of those pink shoes for only €30 – that’s not exactly going to break the bank.
But then again, I’m not exactly earning big bucks either, in spite of my efforts. It will come at some stage; if you’re digging for gold, you may not find it instantly, but as long as you know you’re digging in the right area, then you will eventually… if you keep at it.
And then I can have all my pink shoes and a holiday in Paris. Because that’s the dream at the moment, wandering the Champs Elysee decked out in the very finest Dunnes Stores and TK Maxx have to offer. (Chanel’s got nothing on them.)
Right peeps, a slightly random scribble that I’m not even convinced makes a lot of sense, but after a long busy day in the restaurant, that’s all I’ve left to give.
Ciao darlings!
