It’s incredible the difference taking action can make.

I was feeling so crap most of the day, overwhelmed by how far I’ve yet to go with building our business, looking at all the stuff people online in our creative business group are doing, feeling like they’re all miles ahead of me and far more productive.

Then I stopped and thought, no I’m getting a lot done too.  It’s just a bit exhausting trying to keep up with everything, posting on social media, editing photos, editing the website, learning better photography skills, marketing, advertising and then on top of it all, going to markets where it rains down on your beautiful jewellery and then the wind sends the clothes-rail flying and some of your precious merino wool shawls land in the muck.

Ouf!

And then you go into your Facebook group and see how much everyone else is doing with their businesses and suddenly you feel like you’re in a race and losing sight of all the other competitors.  (Who aren’t even really your competitors because they’re super helpful and kind and supportive.)

But I did manage to turn it all around.

For a while I’d had this idea to do another live video in the group and share some info on an app I’ve discovered that is revolutionizing my jewellery photos (as I mentioned a couple days ago).  Then I saw a post by someone else in the group asking for help with photo-editing since she can’t afford professional pictures.

Hello!

That was clearly my cue so I just dove in and did a live video in the group there and then, showing them a few of the tricks I’ve learned with Snapseed.

I finished it feeling like a new woman!  Proud of myself for doing something that scared me and relieved and satisfied because I was now participating in the group again just like all the others.

I’d caught up with the race-leaders.

Who weren’t racing anyway but you know what I mean.

So it’s now 8 pm and I’m starving – disaster!  For once I’ve no lovely husband in the kitchen preparing a delicious curry.  Which probably means cheese on toast for dinner tonight (aaand every other night til Wednesday).

I can do a lot of things: I can write a daily blog-post every day for 75 days, I can create awesome jewellery photos, I can do a live video on Facebook, I can even travel all the way to India on my own… but I just can’t cook.
