Lately I always seem to do my daily scribble at the end of a long day and as a result, I’m usually tired and uninspired.
Today is no different, given I woke at 6 am so I could drop Alex into town to catch a bus to Dublin, worked a full day in the restaurant followed by an hour of photo-editing followed by falling asleep in front of the TV as of five minutes ago.
This weekend I’m going to try to write in the mornings for a change, so you darling readers don’t get sick of hearing me say for the millionth time how tired I am.
In other news (wow, there is some??) Alex is gone to England for a week to visit an old friend who lives in Brighton and I’m delighted to have some precious me-time for a few days.
Don’t get me wrong, if it was longer than a week, I’d be in mourning right now and would have spent half the morning sobbing from separation anxiety. But as it’s just a few days, I enjoy the feeling of missing him.
It’s like knowing you’ve got a big fat chocolate cake waiting for you when you finish work; you want to eat it right now, obviously, but knowing you have to wait builds the anticipation and makes it that much sweeter when you do finally get to indulge.
Alex is my chocolate cake. Sweetly irresistible, cheers you up when you’re feeling down, is rich and satisfying… well, as far as money goes, he’s not rich yet, but if I have anything to do with it, he will be.
Because if I can figure out a way over the hurdle of fecking jewellery photography (at long, loooong last) I can figure out a way over, around or through just about any hurdle. Watch this space: Caraliza Jewellery is coming soon to a town near you. (As long as you live in Cork. Ha!)
I have big plans and big dreams. For now though, all my focus is on finishing up this post, cleaning the kitchen, filling a hot water bottle and going to bed with my book.
Ooooh, who needs chocolate cake when after a long tiring day, you get to snuggle up in a warm cosy bed with a great book?! (Unless it’s a chocolate book….)
Priorities, it’s all about priorities.
And I have them sorted.
Ciao darlings!
