Upon discovering this morning that my previous blog-post contained a heinous typo (where I somehow called Tom Hanks – Tom Cruise even though in my head the screen said Hanks) I decided to write today’s daily scribble in the morning for once. It seems my eyes and brain aren’t too reliable later on in the day (particularly after I’ve eaten enough bread to feed a team of ducks).

I am currently sitting in a sweet local cafe where they offer free refills and I think I’ve gone out for coffee almost every morning so far of my week off from the restaurant.

But I’m on holidays, in fact I’m actually supposed to be in Amsterdam right now (long story short the trip got cancelled) so what else do you do on your holidays? Besides stare at a computer screen trying to fix your business website for hours every day, obviously.

I guess it’s hard to take a proper holiday when you’re building up your business – I could have taken more time off this week but it seemed too good an opportunity to get work done that I normally don’t have the time/energy for after busy restaurant shifts.

Unfortunately, the week has been such an odd mix of both trying to take time off and trying to get work done that I’m not sure I’ve actually succeeded at either.

I probably should have headed away somewhere to really switch off.

Maybe it’s time I booked a proper holiday to somewhere warm and sunny that’s not Ireland or India and is completely un-work-related.

All work and no play will make Liz a sad boring girl. A plan is formulating in my mind… Stay tuned and meanwhile: don’t work too hard.
