Too Much Curry and Sleepless in Seattle (Day 46)

I’m so stuffed with curry and garlic naan, I’m torn between wanting to lie down and sleep and actually get sick.

Note to self: don’t keep chewing on bread once you’ve finished a big meal.

I’m having a week off from the restaurant, thank goodness.  It’s gotten so busy in there lately I felt like I might need to sleep for the entire holiday which is kind of annoying because much as I enjoy my job and like my boss, crawling out of there utterly exhausted at the end of each shift doesn’t really allow me much energy for my other activities, such as working on our jewellery business or writing.  If only I could find a decently-paid job that didn’t suck my soul dry…

Ok, I’m exaggerating a little.

On a slightly different note, would you believe I watched Sleepless in Seattle for the first time ever last night?  I freakin’ loved it!  God I miss those old-school movies with the clunky telephones, the awful fashion and the best soundtracks; Pretty in Pink or Dirty Dancing or Some Kind of Wonderful…

And my goodness how cute was Meg Ryan??

The funny thing is, I always thought of this movie as one of the great oldies but it only came out in 1993; that’s just four years before Titanic.  Which must mean that Titanic is ancient too.  And God knows what that says about me, I clearly remember going to see it at the cinema…

I’m too full of food to even contemplate that any further.

If you haven’t already watched Sleepless in Seattle (and I realize most of you probably have) then do it!  Grab a big bowl of popcorn, settle yourself on your couch in your pajamas and reminisce with sweet nostalgia for the good old days of letter writing and square-cut boxy cars and a sprightly handsome curly-haired Tom Hanks….

You’ll love it.

Ciao darlings!
