Today I worked hard – damn hard.
I scrubbed – I hoovered – I dusted – I tidied – I washed. In among all that cleaning I also squeezed in a solid photography session for my husband’s jewellery business.
Productive? I think so.
Initially I thought I’d head off somewhere nice for cake and coffee, or go for an afternoon cycle/walk (at least try to work on one of my old-new resolutions) but I got so involved in cleaning that at 6 pm I found myself still polishing windows, having not left home the entire day.
The thing is, I feel immense satisfaction and peace of mind from getting so much work done, particularly the photography.

I usually try to do it outside in order to get maximum natural light and in Ireland’s wacky climate, opportunities for this are few and far between. Today, however, was perfect, with soft winter sunshine and a rich blue sky.
Not only was I pleased to have got another batch of stock photographed, it was a true delight to be able to soak up the sun in the garden while I was doing it – after so many days cooped up indoors, my body was probably craving some good old Vitamin D.
So all in all, today was as deliciously satisfying as the pesto and goats cheese sandwich I ate for lunch.
But what’s even better, is that I can take tomorrow off and relax completely… and definitely make up for that cake and coffee I missed today.
Ciao darlings!
