Day two of a brand new year and I can reveal that my new year resolutions have already fallen flat on their faces, with several resounding SPLATS.
A few examples…
- Cut down on sweet foods
Yesterday I scoffed an entire chocolate Santa – gobbled up the entire thing. Felt ill and repulsed towards the end (finished him off anyway.)
- Eat healthy meals
Said ‘chocolate Santa’ was my dinner (dinner was my dessert). Oh well…
- Get up earlier
Hit snooze button on my phone for 40 minutes before finally scrabbling out of bed with barely enough time to get ready for work.
- Morning meditation
Think rushing around, throwing on clothes and washing face with cold water before running out the door with breakfast on the go…
- Exercise
AHA! This one didn’t belly-flop – not completely. I managed 20 minutes yesterday (of my gentle 10 minute goal) but so far today none… and it’s not looking too good at this late stage.
- Less time on Instagram
Spent 40 minutes tonight watching everyone else fulfilling their dreams and living out their amazing lives while I, of course, continue to flounder inadequately and drift hopelessly through mine. The curse of Social Media.
- Write daily
YES!!! I’m doing this one! The rest I’ll call “a work-in-progress” for now (I can definitely improve on the chocolate Santa dinner – in no time I reckon he’ll just be dessert).
Ciao darlings!

Glad you think so – writing has helped me realize that the crappy moments in life – especially those cringe-worthy super embarrassing ones –
usually the best and most entertaining content. Thanks for reading!

One new year resolution is plenty for any human person. And even that should be taken with a pinch of salt. But I know …. the word human is key.
